Continuing Education for Professionals

What kind of continuing education is available for professionals in the Apraxia Kids Webinar Library?

Apraxia Kids is an approved continuing education provider with ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association). Speech-Language Pathologists seeking continuing education verification must complete the requirements per webinar to receive ASHA CEUs and/or a personalized Certificate of Completion.

Are all webinars available for continuing education credits?

Only the Paid Webinars are available for continuing education verification. The Free Webinars are available for additional learning.

How many hours of continuing education are available in the Webinar Library?

There are 42 Paid Webinars available for up to a total of 60 hours of continuing education credits for professionals.

There are 31 Free Webinars available for 36 hours of additional learning and do not offer continuing education credits.

What are the requirements to earn ASHA CEUs for eligible webinars?

First you must be registered for the “Paid Membership” level. If you would like for Apraxia Kids to submit your eligible CEUs to your ASHA CE Registry on your behalf, you must provide your 8-digit ASHA Number when you register. Only Paid Webinars are available for ASHA CEUs and a verified Certificate of Completion by completing these steps:

       1. View the webinar in its entirety including any handouts provided;

       2. Pass the corresponding webinar quiz with a score of 80% or better; AND

       3. Complete the corresponding webinar survey.
Once you complete those steps, you can access and personalize a Certificate of Completion to save for your records, and (if requested) Apraxia Kids will submit your earned CEUs to ASHA on your behalf.

What if I maintain my own continuing education records?

If you maintain your own course records and do not use the ASHA CE Registry, you must still follow the steps above to access and personalize the Certificate of Completion for each webinar.

When will my CEUs be reported to the ASHA Registry?

In alignment with ASHA’s guidelines, Apraxia Kids submits CEUs for folks with 45 days after the end of the month in which the CEUs were earned. For example, if you complete a webinar (and are eligible to receive CEUs) in January, Apraxia Kids will file those CEUs with ASHA by mid-March at the latest, followed by ASHA’s processing time. Typically, between 45-60 days after the end of each month, CEUs will appear in your ASHA registry. Even if your webinar CEUs do not make it to your Registry the month you completed it, it will be back-dated for the month you completed it.

Will I receive a Certificate of Completion for each webinar?

You can access and personalize a Certificate of Completion after completing these steps:

       1. View the webinar in its entirety including any handouts provided;

       2. Pass the corresponding webinar quiz with a score of 80% or better; AND

       3. Complete the corresponding webinar survey.

Once you complete those steps, you can access and personalize Certificate of Completion to save for your records.

How can I keep track of my progress of the webinars I have viewed and/or completed?

When you are logged in, you can navigate to "Start" to view your completed certificates and the webinars you have access to. When you are browsing webinars, the checkmarks in the navigation panel will show you what you have completed.
